Beauty on the go

Overslept? We give you some quick shortcuts for days when you're running late...

Fix your hair in a flash
It’s always great to have a few quick hair fixes in mind for days when you don’t have time to fully clean and dry your hair. One of the best products on the market for this is dry shampoo, which comes in the form of a spray. You simply spray a little dry shampoo onto the roots of your hair to soak up excess oil and then brush it out and style as usual.

The messy look advantage
Another great thing to have on hand when you’re running late and need a quick hair solution is hair accessories. A sleek ponytail, fastened with a trendy clip can be perfect for a day at the office, and a messy bun is a perfect toned-down look with loads of style.

Fix under eye puffiness
If you’ve had a rough night of partying with friends, or you've been crying, you may notice your eyes are red and puffy when you wake up. To remedy this, place a silver spoon in the fridge right after you wake up. Leave it there while you do your hair and get dressed. Then, before applying your make-up, place the cool spoon under your eyes to help reduce puffiness. If your eyes are red, a great remedy to get rid of this is to soak cotton wool pads in cold water, close your eyes and place the pads on your closed eyes for a few minutes.

Wake up your skin
A great way to instantly improve the appearance of your skin is to splash a little cold water on your face as soon as you wake up. This increases circulation and will wash off excess dirt. Not only will it help your skin, it'll activate your nerves and wake you up, too.

Do your make-up faster

Fast make-up tips and tricks are vital to know for mornings where you’ve overslept. You can get a great made-up look in five minutes or less by skipping a few steps. Use a foundation with a built in moisturiser. This saves you time by allowing you to skip the moisturizing step, without compromising on your skin. Then all you need to do is sweep on a little blush, eyeshadow, black mascara and lip gloss and you're good to go.

Fresh breath to go
Sure, it only takes two minutes to brush your teeth. If you’re extremely short on time, you can always choose to skip this important step. To fix the problem of morning breath, try using strong breath mints, or carry a small tube of mouthwash with you, which can be easily used and disposed of at work.
